FIATS

Today the Internet and Social Media is filled with multimedia content. Most are harmless and, in many cases, quite useful. They communicate knowledge, ideas, new concepts, new thinking and pictures and videos of our pets. However, a growing percentage of multimedia content have been manipulated in order to deceive and change the way people think, act, react, believe and can ultimately cause harm. The simple question is how do we tell the difference between real and fake, fact vs fiction, and ultimately good vs evil?

FIATS (Fake Image Analysis Testing Script) is a Python based machine learning software product for analyzing images for signs of alteration. Whether the motive is to skew intelligence, drive false narratives, commit fraud, impersonate brands, or shame individuals; FIATS can be used to uncover these nefarious activities.

FIATS was highlighted at various conferences over the last 3 years, including DEF CON 2019 and 2020. FIATS is an extension of our 20 years of research and authorship in steganography, steganalysis, covert communications, data hiding, and more; presented at over 100 conferences around the world.
